New Trailhead Opens, Improving Access to the Chippewa Rail Trail

A new trailhead and parking area for the Chippewa Rail Trail is now complete in Lafayette Township. Located on the north side of State Route 162 (Wedgewood Road), the trailhead occupies the former site of the Medina Country Club tennis courts.

The new trailhead, known as the North Lot, provides parking for approximately 14 vehicles and offers convenient access to the Chippewa Rail Trail. The parking lot is located at 5683 Wedgewood Road, Medina.

This half-acre parcel of land was given to the park district in 2024. Construction of the trailhead was partially funded by a State of Ohio Capital Reimbursement Grant.
