Liverpool Meadows Nature Preserve offers visitors a peaceful retreat surrounded by restored prairie, wetlands, and mature forests. The 104-acre preserve features a 0.9-mile gravel loop trail, a 19-car parking lot, a restroom building, access to the Rocky River on the north end of the property, and an observation area. Dogs on leash are permitted.
Located along the West Branch of the Rocky River, much of the preserve is restored prairie which acts as a natural buffer for a headwater stream that was restored in 2009. Once ditched and straightened along a farm field, the stream was reconstructed to follow its natural meandering path, improving water quality and wildlife habitat while reestablishing wetlands and riparian zones. The upland portions of the property contain forests with mature trees and steep ravines, offering scenic views and diverse habitats. A significant portion of Liverpool Meadows is protected by an environmental covenant, ensuring long-term preservation of its natural character.
