The enclosed building at Hidden Hollow Camp offers the perfect amenities for an “indoor camping” experience or day-use events such as picnics, graduation parties, birthday parties, etc. for up to 75 people.

Although there is no indoor plumbing, the frost-proof water spigots with potable water are easily accessible at two outdoor locations. A gray-water pit for disposal of dirty dish water is located adjacent to the toilets. The site includes a campfire ring surrounded with plenty of flexible bench seating and a parade ground area with a flagpole for scout ceremonies. There are turf areas for outdoor recreation activities and a team-building challenge course.

Day Use
The building may be reserved on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 9 a.m. to dark for day-use events such as picnics, graduation parties, birthday parties, etc.

Overnight Camping Available to the Public
The general public has the option to overnight camp at Hidden Hollow Camp on Friday and/or Saturday evenings only. Neither RVs nor travel trailers will be allowed. Tent camping is permissible in addition to the use of the enclosed facility. Only one reservation is permitted per day.

Internet hot-spot access is available upon request on a first-come, first-serve basis for $25.

The key/cleaning deposit for Hidden Hollow Camp is $50. The key must be picked up at the park district headquarters one or two business days before your reservation. For weekend reservations, you must pick the key up either Thursday or Friday as the park office is open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is closed weekends and holidays. The key must be returned in person to the park district office. Please wait at least two business days to return the key to allow time for office staff to receive the building inspection report. Please do NOT mail the key. The key/cleaning deposit will be refunded provided the key is returned, and the building is left clean and undamaged. If the key is lost, $25 will be retained from the deposit for replacement. Should damage to the facility occur at a cost that exceeds the maintenance deposit, the patron will be billed the difference.

Prohibited Items

The release of balloons, Chinese lanterns, etc., is prohibited on park district grounds as these items are detrimental to the environment. In addition, glitter and confetti are not permitted in open-air or enclosed shelters.

Tents

Erecting tents does not increase facility occupancy limits.

If you will be having a tent placed on the site by a tent company or private supplier, you must obtain a copy of its certificate of liability insurance. You must personally send the certificate to the park office notating your name, contact information, the name of the park, and your reservation date. If you or a tent company damages the property or grounds in the process of setting up and/or removing a tent, you will be billed accordingly for the damage.

Discounts

Schools, government entities, churches, scouts, and organized youth groups holding a 501(c)(3) certificate as designated by the IRS are eligible for 50-percent off rental fees. To receive this discount, please call (330)722-9364 to make the reservation. You will need to submit a copy of the 501(c)(3) certificate with the signed reservation form and applicable payment.

Once per year, Friends of the Parks members may receive a shelter reservation discount in the amount of their paid memberships not to exceed $75. To receive this discount, please call (330)722-9364 to make the reservation.

Payment

In addition to paying shelter reservation fees by checks or cash, fees can now be paid online with credit/debit cards. You can make a payment here.

A convenience fee of 5% of the total shelter reservation fee (but not less than $2 per transaction) will be charged to your credit/debit card. The park district will not accept credit/debit cards over the phone. If you do not wish to use the online credit/debit card process but still wish to use a credit/debit card for payment, you can come to the park office to make your reservation during normal business hours.

If an out-of-county bank card is used to pay for a reservation, the out-of-county reservation rate will be charged. No adjustment will be made.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Refunds will be issued, less a 30% processing fee, if cancellation is made six months or more prior to the reservation date. There are no refunds if cancellation is made less than six months from the reservation.

Please note that amenities, fees, and other items are subject to change at any time. Please call (330) 722-9634 with any questions.
