What a gorgeous day to celebrate the opening of the Tumble Bug Trailhead at Chippewa Lake Park!
On the morning of May 15, approximately 70 guests — including local government officials, partner organizations, MCPD staff and board members, contractors, and friends of the park district — gathered at the trailhead for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. State Representative Sharon Ray and a representative from Congressman Max Miller’s office presented commendations and an American flag that had flown over the Ohio Statehouse to commemorate the occasion.
The Tumble Bug Trailhead is officially open to the public on a daily basis from 6 a.m. to one hour past sunset. It is located at 5796 Longacre Lane in Chippewa Lake, Ohio. Amenities in this first phase include a parking area, restrooms, a 20’ x 28’ shared-use picnic shelter, and a .5-mile accessible gravel loop trail. Biking is permitted as well as leashed pets. Golf carts are not permitted on the gravel trail. Learn more about Chippewa Lake at https://chippewalakeohio.com/.
A special thank you to the Chippewa Lake Historical Society for providing guests with a sneak peek of the museum and refreshments during the ribbon-cutting event. The museum is expected to officially open later this summer.
Mark your calendars for an event next month at the Chippewa Lake Historical Society and Tumble Bug Trailhead . . .
