Job description: Under the supervision of the planning and operations manager, assists with the planning, design, and construction of park district facilities including, but not limited to, trails, parking lots, bridges, boardwalks, and enclosed and open-air shelters. Current Job Opening: Development Coordinator

Job description: Under the direction of the business manager, builds relationships with individuals, corporations, volunteers, and members of Friends of Medina County Parks, Inc.; develops and maintains a variety of donor and fundraising programs to advance the mission of the park district; generates news releases, feature stories, content for social media, and more to promote giving and sponsorship opportunities and to increase support; in cooperation with the marketing coordinator, serves as a secondary resource for social media monitoring and communicating. Current Job Opening: Trail Steward

Job description: Under the direction of the planning and operations manager, and working collaboratively with the maintenance superintendent and the natural resource manager, the trail steward supports the park district’s recreation efforts by actively managing, improving, developing, and building trails throughout the park district and performing routine and emergency maintenance activities to ensure safe, enjoyable visitor experiences. Requirements:
Related coursework (associate’s degree preferred) and a successful background (minimum three years) in natural resources, trail building, construction, recreation management, forestry, or similar field to indicate possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities listed

Demonstrated experience working with the equipment and tools necessary to perform the job successfully

Demonstrated experience selecting, training, and supervising staff and volunteers

Possession of any certification or license appropriate to one's area of specialization

Salary range: $41,550 to $56,500

Current Job Opening: Park Laborer

Job description: This is an entry-level position within the maintenance department. Under the direction of a supervisor, the park laborer works in all areas of park maintenance including groundskeeping, repairs, and other assignments necessary for the operations and upkeep of parks and facilities. Current Job Opening: Seasonal Park Laborer

Job description: Temporary seasonal position under the direction of a supervisor, park laborers work in the area of park maintenance, including grounds keeping, repairs, and other work necessary for the operation and upkeep of park facilities from April 15 to October 15.

Requirements: Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, and/or maintenance of facilities and grounds; interest in the outdoors and the field of parks and recreation; ability to work effectively with others and take directions for performance of work

Any combination of training and experience that would indicate possession of the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform job duties
