Job Opening: Full-time Maintenance Superintendent
Job Description:
Under the direction of the deputy director, the maintenance superintendent leads crews in all areas of park maintenance including groundskeeping, equipment maintenance, equipment operations, and repairs. The maintenance superintendent provides crew supervision and project leadership, training, and guidance as related to the operational needs of the park district.
Examples of Duties:
Supervises and schedules maintenance crews including full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees in all job assignments
Oversees all maintenance activities including, but not limited to, groundskeeping, mowing, snow removal, trade work, installation of park amenities, trash pick-up, cleaning, and policy revisions
Evaluates park needs, provides recommendations, and/or directs changes to affect better operations
Distinguishing Characteristics of the Class:
Must possess an ability to learn, teach, and lead crews on a variety of maintenance tasks
Must work with various types of tools and work with diverse forms of power equipment including heavy equipment, tractors, mowers, and chainsaws and have a good, safe working knowledge of such
Must perform a variety of repairs and maintenance on equipment, structures, grounds, etc.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to set a clear vision, communicate that vision, and motivate and lead others
Minimum ten years’ progressive experience in park operations, grounds maintenance, landscaping, building maintenance, and/or park-related management
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent and two-year degree
Desired Training and Experience Requirements:
Possess and maintain a valid Ohio motor vehicle operator’s license and CDL with an insurable/acceptable driving record
Hold and/or be willing to obtain certificates in specific areas of maintenance (e.g., chemical application, electrical, plumbing, HVAC)
Satisfactory fingerprint and criminal background check and drug screening
Salary: $62,000-$90,000

Job Opening: Full-time Customer Service Representative
Job Description:
Under the direction of the business manager, performs secretarial and customer service duties and clerical tasks to support a variety of park district initiatives, both internal and external
Examples of Duties:
Coordinates front-desk duties including answering calls, greeting guests and assisting the public, scheduling and maintaining reservations files (e.g., rentals, cancellations, payments, deposits, refunds, receipts) and program registrations, and incoming and outgoing mail
Maintains reception area files, various monthly spreadsheets, final purchase orders for audit, reading files for staff, destruction of records in accordance with public records policies, staff contact lists, staff registrations for workshops and conferences, and more
Conducts errands as needed to county offices, the post office, title agencies, uniform suppliers, and more
Assists with donations including acknowledgements and approval from the probate court
Salary: $39,000 - $53,000
